SBI Junior Associates Recruitment 2026: State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for recruitment to the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in the Clerical Cadre under a special recruitment drive for SC/ST/OBC backlog vacancies. A total of 1,538 vacancies have been announced.

Important: Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT under this recruitment. The candidate should also have proficiency in the specified local language of the State/UT selected.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have:
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government is also acceptable.
- Candidates in the final year/semester of graduation can also apply provisionally, provided they obtain their graduation qualification by 31 December 2026.
Age Limit
The age limit is calculated as on 01 April 2026.
- Minimum Age: 20 Years
- Maximum Age: 28 Years
- Candidates must have been born between 02 April 1998 and 01 April 2006, both dates inclusive.
Age Relaxation
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Other relaxations are applicable as per SBI rules.

SBI Clerk Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Local Language Proficiency Test
Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Exam will be of 100 marks and will have a duration of 1 hour.
- English Language – 30 Questions / 30 Marks
- Numerical Ability – 35 Questions / 35 Marks
- Reasoning Ability – 35 Questions / 35 Marks
There is a 1/4th negative marking for every wrong answer.
Main Examination
The Main Exam will consist of 190 questions for 200 marks with a total duration of 2 hours 40 minutes.
Subjects include:
- General/Financial Awareness
- General English
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude
There is also 1/4th negative marking for wrong answers.
SBI Junior Associate Salary
The official notification states that the starting basic pay for Junior Associates is ₹26,730, including two additional increments for newly recruited graduate Junior Associates.
The total starting salary may vary according to the place of posting and applicable allowances. SBI states that emoluments payable at a metro such as Mumbai are around ₹46,000 per month, inclusive of DA, other allowances at prevailing rates and two additional increments.
