The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi has released the admit card date for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) 2026. Educational Qualification
[‘Primary Level (Class 1 to 5)’]
Candidates must have 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and must have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C. / D.El.Ed.).
Alternatively, 10+2 with at least 45% marks along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, as per NCTE 2002 norms.
Alternatively, candidates with 10+2 with at least 50% marks who are appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
Alternatively, 10+2 with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) who have passed or are appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C. / D.El.Ed.) are also eligible.
[‘Junior Level (Class 6 to 8)’]
The Junior Level follows the same senior-secondary and teacher-training pattern at the higher secondary / graduation level as specified in the official JHTET 2026 notification, for upper primary teacher eligibility.
The official JHTET 2026 notification is framed as the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test Rules 2026, framed by the Government of Jharkhand, School Education and Literacy Department (Directorate of Primary Education), under the powers conferred by Section 38 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (35 of 2009).
